'Audit' Template Overview

Introduction

The audit template provides a simple mechanism for storing 'audit records' against contact and catalogue objects. Each audit record is associated with a contact record (identifying a user making a change) and either another contact record or a catalogue item or category - the thing that has been changed.

Each audit record stores a short text summary of the change and an arbitrary JavaScript object to store details of the changes made. In theory an application could store sufficient information in the audit record to implement an 'undo' function.
